For Friday, May 17, 2002

Good Morning, Folks !!!

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He Who
promised is faithful.
Hebrews 10: 23

Sometimes, at the end of the day, we have to lie down with things left yet to
be resolved. It may be difficult to sleep, as our minds wander to that matter,
restlessly.
If we remember that God is the One with all the solutions, and Who can
put our minds to rest, we will sleep in perfect peace.
Don't let the burdens of today, keep you from the rest which you will
need tomorrow. Sleep well, trusting, knowing that God is in command.

Close of Day
We come to Thee at close of day
And bow down at Thy feet;
We ask Thee, Lord, for gentle peace,
In manner soft and sweet.

We come to Thee at close of day;
The sun has gone to rest.
We feel Thy Presence ever near,
And we are truly blessed.

We come to Thee at close of day;
Our thoughts are full of care,
And in the quiet of the night,
We call on Thee in prayer!
~~~ Hope C. Oberhelman~~~
Have a safe, blessed, and restful weekend, Family.
For Thursday, May 16, 2002
Good Morning, Folks !!!
Dear Friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are
suffering, as though something strange were happening to you.
But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so
that you may be overjoyed when His glory is revealed.
I Peter 4:12-13
Daily, we are choosing our everlasting futures, by the responses
that are initiated from all of our experiences.
To reap gain of any kind, there must be a season of pain and suffering to
be endured, so that with the wisdom we may obtain from the
"forty days" period, we shall be able to appreciate that experience,
rather than resent it for the rest of our lives.
Our personal experiences all vary, but it is when we look upon
someone else's that we compare, and either we complain that
much more that we are having it so terrible, or we offer gratitude
that our trials are not quite so bad, after all.
God doesn't bring us through pain and suffering so that we may
remain in it. He desires that we move through it, enabling us to trust
more, to believe more, molding a heart that can love more, like He does.
Experience
We must live through the weary Winter,
If we would value Spring.
And the woods must be cold and silent,
before the robins sing.
The flowers must be buried in darkness,
Before they can bud and bloom.
And the sweetest and warmest sunshine,
Comes after the storm and gloom.
So the heart, from the hardest trial,
Gains the purest joy of all.
And from the lips that have tasted sadness,
The sweetest songs will fall.
For as peace comes after suffering,
And love is reward of pain,
So, after earth, comes Heaven,
And out of our loss, the gain.
Dear Father,
I pray, in the name of Jesus, that as each one reads these
words today, You help them to understand that whatever
their pain is, their sorrow, their grief, that this is only a
passing storm, and shall end.
Father, speak to the heart of this one, and reassure them
in Your tender loving way today, that there is a light at the
end of their tunnel, a plan for their future that is beyond
their imagination, if they will only trust You, seek You,
and obey You.
Father, help them to look at their circumstances
differently now, and to begin to move on, asking for
Your help to form a plan for the next footstep they
are to take. And give them patience, Father, to take
one footstep at a time.
Father, meet them upon the pathway today, and
stretch forth Your mighty hand, to lead and show them
the way.
In the name of Jesus, I pray, trust, and I believe, Father,
that You will, and I give You all the praise, the thanks,
and the glory and I love You, Father. Amen
Good Morning, Folks !!!
Then the Lord said to Moses, "Now you will see what I will do to
Pharaoh: because of My mighty hand he will let them go; because of My
mighty hand he will drive them out of his country."
Exodus 6:1
Timing is critical. If baking a cake, removing it from the oven five minutes
too early leaves it half baked and gooey. If leaving it in five minutes longer than
needed, it may become scorched.
In all of the Scriptures, time and again, we witness to the fact that God's
timing is the one factor which always accomplishes, always completes.
If there are those in our circle of family and friends with whom we are
concerned spiritually, and if we have been trying to force them into church,
into salvation, and it isn't working, has not been working, then God is trying
to tell us, like He did Moses, that whenever it comes time, He will do it
quickly and completely.
It doesn't mean that we are to stop witnessing to them, but instead,
as we demonstrate and display the love of Christ to them every day, through
our own actions, and wait for God's timing, that move of the Holy Spirit
will come. We can depend upon it.
We must wait for God's timing in all things. He will sustain us until
His perfect timing arrives. We just need simply to trust.
Your Own Version
You are writing a Gospel,
A chapter each day,
By deeds that you do,
By words that you say.
Men read what you write,
Whether faithless or true;
Say, what is the Gospel
According to you?
Good Morning, Folks !!!
As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you. . . .
Isaiah 66:13
Approaching Our Father God in our hour of need, in pain, and
even sometimes in fear, never fails to strengthen us as we pour out
our thoughts to Him.
We can almost feel the soothing touch of His hand as He comforts,
and our spirits are opened to receive His love, as He draws us nigh
unto Him.
We may not hear an audible voice, but we can surely recognize
the perfect Spirit of peace, as it descends in that quiet moment, to
bring rest, and reassurance to our troubled minds, pouring down soft
misty showers of blessing, refreshing and reviving.
Confession
Sometimes I come to You in tears
My heart so full of pain,
Discouraged and disheartened
You pick me up again.
Sometimes, I come to You in want,
I grumble and complain;
And then, You give just what I need
And pick me up again.
Sometimes, I come to You in fear,
I fight my dread in vain.
I cannot do it on my own,
You pick me up again.
Sometimes, I come to You in thanks,
And then, it's very plain
that anytime I come to You,
You'll pick me up again.
I always come to You in love,
Whether in loss or gain
You show me sweet compassion
And pick me up again.
Note: Family, please help me to pray for Kathleen, who is having
pain in her shoulder from surgery. She needs our prayers.
Thanks. Blessings to all of you today.
For Monday, May 13, 2002
Good Morning, Folks !!!
Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
Colossians 3:2
As we dwell upon heavenly thoughts, we are dwelling in
the power of the Holy Spirit, in the secret place of the Most High God.
We are strengthening our souls, as we do so.
If we can gather the spiritual fortitude to rise above daily
problems, trivialities, which should not disturb our heavenly thoughts,
we are well on our way, to overcoming, overpowering the enemy.
Praising God is usually an end result of dwelling upon lovely thoughts.
How can we think of good without thinking of Our Father God? It is impossible.
© Sandra Lewis Pringle
Heavenly Thoughts
I look upon the earth, and all the creatures therein,
I look upon the bounty of His blessings,
and I'm reminded once again,
that only by His power,
and only by His might,
are we able to see those things manifest,
from our faith, and into sight.
Rivers run freely in various places,
while singing their everlasting song;
the waters flow right past us,
reminding us, as humans, to keep moving along.
It isn't until the river winds and runs its course,
determined to make its way to the sea;
that it becomes much more powerful,
much like you and me.
The birds awaken with their non-stop morning serenade,
eager to greet the day,
Once again, we're reminded that God has sent them
to brighten up our way.
As we dwell upon the heavenly thoughts,
we're more able to focus upon His power, His might.
In doing so, we overcome our burdens,
and are able to dwell with Him, in sheer delight.
