Since this is Memorial Day, I wish to share with you,
a special poem, and it was written during the Desert
Storm mission. This poem still applies today, as well.
May God bless all the servicemen, servicewomen, who
are dedicating their time and abilities to the protection
of our country, and thanks to all those who
have done so in the past.
To Our Soldiers
I reach from the bottom of my heart,
for the words I wish to say.
I'd like this poem to be something special,
to help brighten and cheer your day.
Without your sacrifice, our country may not last;
Without your courage,
our military would surely fail the test.
Whenever you think of those that you have left behind,
to take care of all the chores,
Know that each task is undertaken gladly,
because we honor all that you stand for.
Each of you takes a stand for our freedom,
each of you is willing to lend a helping hand.
For what other purpose could there be as admirable,
as that of helping our fellow man?
Our streets may sometimes seem empty,
our homes without that familiar face.
But, we never forget that you are there,
in another time, in some distant place.
Our prayers are whispered softly,
as we lie down to sleep,
that your lives shall be spared,
and that you are His, to keep.
Good Night, to each and every one,
Thanks for a job, that is being well done.
We love you and miss you,
and are proud, indeed,
to know that our Americans are always,
there for others, in times of need.
