Good Morning, Folks !!!

Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to Our King,
sing praises.
Psalm 47:6

My mother had always loved flowers, had worked with them year
after year, and knew them all by heart.
During the last year of her life, I would take her by the arm into the
dining hall of the nursing home facility, and we would walk by the
flowers, and photos of flowers hanging on the walls.
Even though my efforts were in vain, she could no longer remember
the names of the flowers, which she had loved so well.
She did, however, recall her favorite hymns, and often as we
sat and sang quietly together, others would come in and chime in with us.
She remembered the words very well.
One day, as several of us were gathered singing, a little black lady
got up from her seat, walked slowly over to the other side of the room,
sat down at the piano which was situated there, and began playing the
hymns which we were singing, not missing a single note.
She did not remember her own name, but remembered those
beloved songs of praise, and Her Savior.

Oh, let me sing the old songs,
the beloved hymns of yesteryear.
They bring back so many memories,
of which I hold so dear.

They speak of love and salvation,
of Our Precious tender Lord.
They ring out from angelic elderly voices,
who somehow never lose the words.

Let us praise the Master,
the Music Director from on High,
and may we hear the angels singing,
as we close our eyes to die.

May they sing "Precious Memories",
"Softly and Tenderly", too,
May they walk us through the garden,
Where we alone, Father, meet with You.

Sing out saints of chorus,
Let the praises echo and resound;
These words shall remain in our hearts forever,
and shall be carried with us, as we are Heaven bound.

Have a blessed Monday, and may you have a
song in your heart today.
