For August 2, 2002

Good Morning, Folks !!!

Even to your old age and gray hairs,
I am He, I am He Who will sustain you,
I have made you and I will carry you;
I will sustain you and I will rescue you.
Isaiah 46:4

Many unsurmountable problems, gathered together at the same time,
can certainly seem overwhelming.
But, if we remember God's promise, and
surrender all to Him, He is able to sustain us, while sending
forth His peace.
He has promised to sustain us, and He will do so.
Suicidal thoughts come from the enemy
and may offer an easy way out, but we are all God's children,
and His love is with us, if we just accept it.
Know that no problem is larger than He is, and that He has attainable
power, which is beyond all others, to dispel all the hurting, all the pain,
all the strife.
Life is worth living and it is worth giving to others, all that you can be.
Let the One Who created the thunder control Your storms.

Life is Worth Living

Life is worth living,
wherever you are,
Deep down in a dungeon,
or high on a star.

Life is worth living;
It all has a plan
When God knows you're giving,
the best that you can.

The saint and the sinner,
The great and the small,
We all are God's children
And He loves us all.

So, pray when you're happy,
And pray when you're blue.
For life is worth living,
when God lives with You.

Have a safe and blessed weekend, Family.

For August 1, 2002

Good Morning, Folks!!

Welcome to August !!!

Many nations will come and say,
"Come, let us go up to the mountain of the
Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob.......
Micah 4:2

In both the Summer and Fall, the mountains seem to be a favorite retreat,
where many like to come and visit.
I grew up in the mountains and have found that after having been away for any
length of time, they are always a welcoming
sight to me, as I approach on the interstate,
and first see them come into view.
I love the mountains and the valleys are
never so beautiful, as seen from a mountaintop.
While standing in the valley, it is often the wide shoulders of the mountains
which bring to me, comfort, and I feel that the arms of God are surrounding.
He certainly displays His artful hand,
in the peaks and in the valleys. I often feel as if I am sitting on
His front porch, whenever I look down from a lofty place.
He is an awesome God.

A Blue Ridge Mountain Farewell

Their broad shoulders comfort us,
like a blanket in the night;
protect us from the wind and storms,
which bring lightning, thunder, and fright.

The blue peaks loom above us,
as arrows, piercing upwards to the sky,
pointing to the heavens,
where bold eagles soar and fly.

I make my home in this rich valley,
toil my fields with my two hands,
I wouldn't trade it for anyplace else,
because I'm proud of this beautiful land.

I'm proud to be a native
of such a vast domain;
The mountains are my homeland,
all its people feel the same.

I hope that when you visit,
our heritage will touch your heart.
So, I leave this invitation,
to carry with you,
upon the time you have to depart.

I wish that whenever you leave,
back to someplace unlike our own;
You will feel the door is always open,
back to this place, we call our home.

"Where is your faith?" He asked His
disciples.
In fear and amazement they asked one
another, "Who is This? He commands even
the winds and the water, and they obey Him."
Luke 8:25

Often, while being tossed by the winds of
an unexpected storm, it is enough for us to
just know at the onset, that Our Father will
be with us, and we will weather this one through.
It may be difficult to have such a perspective each time, but is
the place that every Christian longs to be.
It is possible for us to remain faithful in the boat upon the waters, as
long as we remember that He does command the winds, and the waters, as well.

The Covert of Thy Wings

I do not even ask, Dear Lord,
that Thou should'st still the sea,
But that Thy strong unfailing love,
with peace abide in me.

For well I know no storm would come
Could I not stand the test.
So let me lean with faith serene,
Against Thy loving breast.

Willing thus to stand the storm
Though bruised by grief and pain,
Knowing that someday my loss,
will prove eternal gain.

For oh, I know no song-filled sky
or days all bright and clear,
Could ever cause my soul to cling
to Thee, like this, so near.

And had I been less tempest-tossed,
my heart could not have known,
The utter sweetness just to trust
in Thee, and Thee alone.

And, so I do not ask to fly,
Above the storm and sing;
Just let me in the tempest feel
The covert of Thy wings!

For Tuesday, July 30, 2002

Good Morning, Folks !!!

If My people , who are called by My Name, will humble themselves
and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will
I hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
2 Chronicles 7:14

It is necessary that we approach God's throne in humbleness and worship,
without pride.
A balanced prayer contains as much
praise, as petition.
We have to revere Him as the Great Authority, the Sovereign God,
The Great I Am, that He is.
He Alone knows the best way for us.
As we pray, He examines our hearts.
He searches for sincerity, honesty, and
a forgiving spirit. He seeks our love for Him, our unconditional love for Him.
Pride is no companion to accompany you before the throne, and is neither
an adequate companion for any relationship.

Pride

My name is Pride.
I am a cheater.
I cheat you of your God-given destiny,
because you demand your own way.
I cheat you out of contentment,
because you "deserve better than this".
I cheat you of knowledge,
because you're too full of "me" to forgive.
I cheat you of holiness,
because you refuse to admit when you're wrong.
I cheat you of vision,
because you'd rather look in the mirror, than out of a window.
I cheat you of genuine friendship,
because nobody's going to know the real you.
I cheat you of love,
because real romance demands sacrifice.
I cheat you of greatness in Heaven,
because you refuse to wash another's
feet on earth.
I cheat you of God's glory,
because I convince you to seek your own.
My name is Pride, I am a cheater.
You like me because you think I'm
always looking out for you.
Untrue.
I'm looking to make a fool of you.
God has so much for you, I admit,
but don't worry.
If you stick with me,
you'll never know.

For July 29, 2002

Good Morning, Folks !!!

His mother said to the servants, "Do
whatever He tells you."
John 2:5

In this particular passage of Scripture,
we see several things happening.
In the previous verse, Jesus questioned His mother about her
suggestion that He begin to produce miracles, feeling as though
it was not the time nor the place to reveal His power to do so.
Mary, with the loving mother's intuition,
and also confidence in her Son, knew that it was the time. Most all mothers
have an intuitive sense about their children, just as Mary.
She informed the servants that they were to obey.
As the servants gathered the jars, which usually held water for washing,
Jesus instructed them to fill them with water.
They obeyed.
He then, turned the water into wine.
Our faith, along with obedience, is able to produce miracles. Faith,
without obedience, will often hinder our miracles.
The water represents the cleansing waters, which we, as jars of clay,
have to be filled. As we exercise our faith and obey,
then Jesus can produce wine for us, from our wells of living water.
Praise the Lord !!!

Dear Father,
I come before Thee today,
for it is a miracle that I need.
I have filled myself with Your water,
and with faith, I come. I believe.

Instruct me, Dear Heavenly Father,
Please, tell me what to do.
I know that my miracle will manifest;
it can only come from You.

Take my jar of water, Father,
and fill it to the brim.
Please, turn my water into wine today,
so that I may offer praise again.

The URL address I gave last week was wrong for Pastor Stan's website.
Here is the correct address:

He includes audible deliverance prayers on his website.

Please keep the coal miners, their families in prayer. Praise God for their safety.
