For August 16, 2002

Good Morning, Folks !!!

Be very careful, then, how you live, not as unwise but as wise,
making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.
Ephesians 5:15-16

If ever there is a time in our lives, that these words ring true, they are applicable
today, even more.
As opportunities arrive, we must be discerning of which are from God,
which are not.
Also, as we accept and assume opportunities for us to serve God more,
we can expect that there will be a testing as to our commitment, and as our
commitment is established, the enemy will poke his nose into it, trying to cause
adversity which will discourage us.
As we have occasion to stand up against him over a period of time, we can just
about discern when we will hear from him again. This happened to me yesterday,
and it almost caught me off guard, but I recognized it in just a short while.
May God give each of us strenth, wisdom, fortitude, and the faith to carry on in
the face of adversity, and may we pass the test of our commitments to Him, placing
Him first, above all other things.

My Task

To love some more dearly every day,
To help a wandering child to find his way,
To ponder over a noble thought, and pray,
And smile when evening falls.
This is my task.

To follow truth as blind men long for light,
To do my best from dawn of day 'till night,
To keep my heart fit for His Holy sight.
This is my task.
~~Maude Louise Ray~~

Note: Thanks to those who are sending me names, addresses of local
bookstores which may be interested in my books. I will send the promo sheets
to them and appreciate your help.

Have a safe and blessed weekend, Family.

Good Morning, Folks!!

What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?
Mark 8:36

We are all aware of the price which Our
Father God paid, in order to grant us
salvation from sin.
His Son was the Sacrifice, for all, and only by the power of His
Resurrected blood are we able to stand strong against the enemy
day by day, to experience victory, even unto death.
Some may think that the price we pay,
to walk as Christians, is too high. But, if they ever came to know
Our Lord Jesus, they would know that His peace alone is worth it.
Praise the Lord.

It Will Cost You Something

It will cost you something to follow God;
to leave old ways behind.
It will cost you something to read His Word;
to be renewed in mind.

It will cost you something to take your stand,
It will cost you something to pray.
It will cost you something to seek His will,
and do it, day by day.

But, you'll gain a deeper love for God,
And for your neighbor, too.
You'll gain a heart that will forgive
as God's forgiven you.

It will cost you something to follow God,
And wear the Savior's name,
It will mean you must give up a lot,
but there's a lot to gain.
~~Glenda Fulton Davis~~

Dear Father God,
If any are in need of Your perfect peace today, may it descend
upon the spirits of those who are troubled.
Father, send forth the comfort of the Holy Spirit, to accompany them
now, in all situations, in all conversations, and in all circumstances.
As they view the mighty oaks which line the streets of our cities, may
they remember that we have that same strength, simply because You
are Our Father.
In the name of Jesus, I pray, trust, and believe, and give You all praise,
and thanks, Amen.

Please pray for my left heel, which is bothering me again.
Thanks for prayers.

Good Morning, Folks !!!

. .. to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on
the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
Ephesians 4:23-24

Keeping our thoughts in the positive realm, rather than in the negative,
produces for us, a positive life.
Each life may have setbacks and dilemmas, but positive thoughts help
to make the road we travel, less rocky and cumbersome.
In order for us to become as the image of God, in His likeness, our minds
must be determined to follow the course of believing,
even though not seeing, wherever that may lead us, whomever it may lead us to.

God Gives to Me

God gives me strength and sustenance
When failure comes my way.
He gives me hope and courage
to face each new born day.
He comforts and sustains me
When I know great despair.
He helps me in my hour of need
In answer to my prayer.

He leads me and He guides me
When efforts seem in vain,
He gives me faith and confidence
To help my goals attain.
He offers me forgiveness
For wrong that I may do.
He is my Light and Beacon
day in and out, anew.

For Tuesday, August 13, 2002

Good Morning, Folks !!

"But no one says, 'Where is God my Maker, Who gives songs in the
night, Who teaches more to us than to the beasts of the earth and makes us
wiser than the birds of the air?"
Job 35: 10-11

Whenever burdens oppress, and prayers
seem to go unanswered, with situations lingering still, perhaps it is
only God making arrangements for a better solution,
a greater blessing than we could imagine.
We have to trust Him, trust His Word,
that He will answer, and He has to make sure that we do trust Him, as well.
To us, tomorrow may look bleak, but He creates each tomorrow, which begins
with the birds, chirping in cheer.
May the cheer of the birdsong be carried along in our hearts today, regardless of the circumstances, as we remember our Creator and all of His mighty power and wisdom,
to act in our behalf, lifting us up, as the birds, soaring and dipping in flight.

Note: Hope all are well. Good to be back
in touch.

My Prayer for You

May the good Lord bless and keep you
each hour of every day,
And be the light that guides you,
each step along Life's way.

May He comfort and sustain you,
When things perplex your mind,
May He be your Inspiration,
Your lofty goals to find.

May He be with you in Spirit,
and help your burdens bear,
May He ever find you worthy
of His tender love and care.
