For Friday, August 30, 2002

Good Morning, Folks!!

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith,
Who for the joy set before Him endured the Cross, scorning its shame,
and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:2

Before we enter into areas of opportunity,
it is necessary that we make sure the land has been cleared, before we
can attempt to settle there.
Every opportunity from God will hold the
hidden agendas and traps of the enemy, which will have to be weeded out,
before the works can move into the realms for which they are intended.
Others, also, have to be able to envision
the end result, as they will be placed to encourage us through the thickness of the
wilderness.
Our faith, not the faith of others, takes us from beginning to end, from nothing to
something.
We are propelled forward by our faith,
regarding all things.
It is very important to keep our faith, and not lose our momentum, keep our eyes
upon Jesus, every step of the way.

Our Faith

It is God's strength which brings me power,
and only by faith,
do I endure from hour to hour.

Joy may be hidden,
and completely out of sight;
but faith shines through the wilderness,
the darkness of the night.

Faith keeps us going,
whenever it seems there just is no way.
Faith keeps us going,
as we trust and obey.

Keep your eyes upon the mark,
upon the result which lies beyond;
Keep your eyes upon our Lord Jesus,
and keep your faith steady and strong.

Good Morning, Folks:

But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
and on His law he meditates day and night.
Psalm 1:2

As faithful children of God, it is a must that we continually
renew ourselves in His Word, in His law, in His promises.
Our walks with Him are tempered in
spiritual climates, as we draw nearer to Him, it seems, in times
of stress or troubles.
But, we can ask for a fresh touch of His
anointing daily, for an increased measure of Himself in us daily,
for an increase in our faith.
Surely, as we do, this delights Him, and He knows the true yearning
we have for His sovereignty, His wisdom, in our lives.

Walking with God

O, for a closer walk with God,
A calm and heavenly frame,
A light to shine upon the road,
that leads me to the Lamb.

Where is the blessedness I knew,
When first I saw the Lord?
Where is the soul-refreshing view
of Jesus and His Word?

What peaceful hours I once enoyed!
How sweet their memory still.
But, they have left an aching void,
The world can never fill.

Return, O Holy Dove, return,
Sweet messenger of rest:
I hate the sins that made Thee mourn,
and drove Thee from my breast.

The dearest idol I have known,
Whatever that idol be,
Help me to tear it from Thy throne,
and worship only Thee.

So shall my walk be close with God,
calm and serene, my frame.
So purer light shall mark the road,
that leads me to the Lamb.
William Cowper

Dear Father,
Help us all today, in Thy great power,
to draw nigh unto You,
to allow You to rule over our lives, without
any hesitation, without any reservation.
Help us to obey You today, in all things,
and to be ever mindful of our deeds, our
spirits, our attitudes, and help us to know
that we are blessed, as we meditate on
Your Word, day and night.
Father, thank You for Your fresh touch
of anointing, of grace, of compassion, for us
and for Your faithfulness renewed daily.
In Jesus' name, we pray, trust, and
we do believe, and thank You, Father.
Amen

For Wednesday, August 28, 2002

Good Morning, Folks !!!

Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another
above yourselves.
Romans 12:10

Woven into the patchwork of our lives
are the threads of relationships which sometimes under pressure,
tighten, stretch, and may even become broken.
One string can make a difference, as it joins one piece of our
emotional fabrics to another, one life to another.
Our relationships, like the strings, can
tighten with discord, and are usually stretched at times, and then
become fully attached to those whom we love dearest.
No relationship is ever perfect, but our Father God can bring
all the imperfections into His pattern of complete perfection,
making a beautiful weaving from all the broken threads.
Ask God today to restore any troubled relationships you may have
and to transform them into His mighty perfection.
He is faithful, and He will do so.

Second Sight
I cannot weave a tapestry,
Whose vibrant colors gleam,
But I can thread a needle,
And sew a little seam.

I have no silver notes to turn
into a lovely song,
But I can sit and listen
to the tune and hum along.

I cannot preach a sermon,
to edify the year.
But I can say a little prayer,
the Lord can always hear.

I cannot climb a mountain,
all wreathed in clouds of white,
But I can walk a woodland path,
And feel my heart grow light.

I cannot paint a masterpiece,
I cannot carve in stone.
But, there is something I can do,
that is my very own.

For though I do not weave or climb,
Nor paint, or carve, or sing;
Somehow, I find a bit of God,
in every living thing.
~~Grace Easley~~

For Tuesday, August 27, 2002

Have been traveling all day, and it is late. On the way home, I
heard on the radio about the two young girls in Oregon believed to
have been buried in a neighbor's yard.
I was thinking of the smaller ones and how all this is affecting them.
Here is a poem I wrote upon a napkin while driving.
Let's all pray for the children today, pray for one another, and all
mothers, with little ones. Thanks.

"Mommy, Why?"

"Mommy,
Why can't I play outside just like before?
And, Mommy, why is my friend, Mantha,
no longer knocking at the door?

Do all the other kids have to stay inside?
Mommy, why do you sit and watch me,
whenever I'm outside?

I feel lonesome that I no longer am able,
to see some of my friends.
And, I hope that the snatching away by strangers,
will soon come to an end.

I want to visit with Crissy,
who lives down the street.
I hate to be afraid of everyone I don't know,
as we with strangers, meet.

Mommy, will you hold me close,
and never let me go?
Mommy, will you always be here with me,
as I learn and grow?

Mommy,
Do you think that God still watches,
from His window up above?
And do you think that He's still able,
to send down His love?

I wish I could hug Him, Mommy,
and ask Him to help us all.
Why can't we all love each other, Mommy,
and help others as they fall?

Mommy, this world is a little scarey,
since all the girls have gone away;
I hope that I'll be more able to understand it,
when I grow up, someday.

Mommy, do you think there's a big playground
in Heaven,
where all the girls have gone?
And, do you think they have new dollies,
to love and call their own?

I sure do miss them, Mommy,
and wish they were still here.
I'm glad that Jesus loves me, Mommy,
and is always close and near.

Tuck me in tightly tonight, Mommy,
as I lie down to sleep,
and can you wait for just a little while,
after I kiss you on the cheek?

I want to pray for all the children,
who have left and gone away,
and, Mommy, I sure hope that
tomorrow's a better day."
