For Friday, October 18, 2002

Good Morning, Folks!!!

.... 'Do not be discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not
yours, but God's.'
2 Chronicles 20:15

Whenever we struggle and wrestle with an issue for a period of time, with absolutely
no results, God is trying to tell us that the battle is His, and is politely waiting for us to
surrender it to Him.
There will be strife in our lives, and
troubles of all kinds, and some, we will be
able to arm ourselves against, but whenever one comes along that is more
powerful than we can handle, and we will recognize it,
then it is time for us to humbly bow out of
the struggle, and hand it over to the One Who is all powerful, all wise.

Dear Father,
Many times, we struggle with problems
and are able to take refuge in You,
are able to equip ourselves in Your
armor, and become victorious.
But, Father, there are some battles which
rage out of control, which heed no warnings, and which
we feel completely helpless over.
It is then, Father, that we need to have the wisdom to know that these
are Your battles, so please guide us daily, in
wisdom, in discernment, to know the
difference.
In Jesus' name, we pray, trust, and believe, and thank You, Father.
Amen.

For October 17, 2002

Good Morning, Folks !!!

It is God Who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect.
2 Samuel 22:33

As we progress from trial to trial, and
gain strength, we go from glory to glory.
Only God's mighty perfection can strengthen us in the way
that we need it most, at the perfect times.
We can depend upon His strength, His might, and we can
depend upon Him to overshadow our weaknesses, making us strong in Him.
Whenever we arise, and know that we have Him, we greet the daybreak with
relief, and with hope, regardless of any situation which faces us.
Praise the Lord.

Daybreak

The morning light is breaking, Lord,
Another day is here,
Life's problems must again be met,
with heart and vision clear.

Strength for today I ask, dear Lord,
Strength only for today;
Renew my faith, my hope revive,
Illuminate my skies of gray.

For yesterday is past, dear Lord,
Tomorrow I never may see,
Today alone lies in my grasp,
to use or lose for Eternity.

Help me to lend a helping hand,
to dry the fallen tears,
To give to all whose life touches mine,
some comfort or good cheer.

Help me to sink my poor weak self
with its longings, hopes, and fears,
In service to my fellow-man,
battling through this vale of tears.

Just for today, day by day,
courage and strength, I pray;
Garnering the good, forgiving the wrong,
Till I've lived my last today.
~~Samuel F. Smith ~~

Good Morning, Folks!!!

Then He said to them all: "If anyone would come after Me, he must
deny himself and take up His cross daily and follow me."
Luke 9:23

Our Lord Jesus instructs us to pick up our crosses daily, one day at a time,
and follow Him.
Looking at tomorrow or next week, will only make our crosses that
much more difficult to bear.
He gives us our daily bread, and He also
gives us our daily strength.
Praise God.

Show Me the Way

Show me how to carry, Lord,
This cross You've given me,
Help me never to forget
that day on Calvary.

You carried such a heavy cross,
And though three times You fell,
You got up and walked again,
and carried Your cross well.

But being just a simple soul,
Without the strength You've known,
I'm not sure I can carry
this heavy cross alone.

So Lord, if You should see me
stumble, now and then,
Give me the strength and courage
to get up and walk again.
~~Doris A. Orth ~~

Dear Father,
In these days and times, we see events
happening before our eyes, which we have never seen before,
and they are evil things,
and we seek refuge in You, Father.
Lord, may those who perpetrate evil against the innocent, be brought
to justice and captured quickly. Lord, bless all Your saints today, and give
them strength to face all the crosses in their lives, until that day, that morning, which,
I think, You will come.
Father, be with each of us each day, to encourage those who do not know Your strength,
who do not know Your peace, and may we turn them sweetly and kindly into
Your direction.
Bless the innocent today, Father, who have suffered at the hands of
others who have done evil, and give them Your strength, Your peace today,
and the comfort of the Holy Spirit.
In the name of Jesus, we pray, trust, and we believe, and give You
praise, Amen

For Tuesday, October 15, 2002

Good Morning, Folks!!

We love because He first loved us.
I John 4:19

I think that whenever God formed us,
His first thought was of our hearts.
As He created each one, He knew that this would be the
organ which would hold love.
It is with the acts from the heart, the
acts of love, which remain fresh in our minds,
and which bring us the greatest memories,
rewards, and joys of our lifetimes.
Such a delicate thing, the heart, and such
a wonderful gift from our Father.
© Sandra Lewis Pringle

The heart is a dwelling place,
for all the kindness which we show.
The heart is a deep fountain,
from which our love can grow.

The heart is a special place;
where love and hatred can both dwell.
'Tis better, by far, to choose the love,
for Heaven is better than hell.

Our hearts lead us gentle;
turn us away from things of naught;
And it's only when one is opened,
that enables love from another,
to be caught.

For Monday, October 14, 2002

Good Morning, Folks!!!

He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul.. .
Psalm 23:2

There is a place in life where we all have journeyed.
It is the place where our souls have become empty,
desolate wastelands, dry and withered.
As we turn to Our Father, He leads us into a prosperous land, a land that stills all storms, so that we may rest in Him, and our souls become replenished and filled, with a freshness of dawn, as
the early morning dew.
It is in the times most turbulent in our lives, that we
are able to see His power manifested in greatest
strength, but we must find the resting place, the perfect resting spot, in Him.
(c) Sandra Lewis Pringle

Dear Father,
In the times that I need to become restored,
help me to find the green pasture,
which will restore my soul.
Help me to lie down beside the still, quiet waters
of the Spirit and be filled,
with nourishment, replenishment, and restoration.
Help me, Father, to simply rest in You.
In the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.

Thanks for prayers.
