keep warm and well fed; but does nothing about
his physical needs, what good is it?"
James 2:16
On Kindness
Kind words accomplish miracles,
where threats fall on deaf ears.
No one is ever ruled through fear. . .
However, it appears.
No matter what the challenge is,
or choices we must make,
Each one of us must choose the path
our feet are meant to take.
How often we have criticized
what we don't understand,
claimed God's right to judgement,
which was not given man.
Imagined that "we know it all"
and in our foolish pride,
accepted tales as true, before .. .
we know the other side.
Dear Lord, forgive our blindness,
Who see ourselves as strong,
Teach us, though we're often right,
that we are sometimes wrong.
Help us to keep in good repair,
this small glass house we own,
and grant our hands be quick to help,
but never throw a stone.

Iraqi people - to come to understand that our troops are there to safeguard them, and help them establish a peaceful nation.
Hurricane Isabel - to weaken dramatically by midafternoon.
Pray for all messages of hatred to be overpowered by messages of love, of Christ, and that many will be removed from blindness, in all nations, including America.

The answer is Jesus,
to the questions of Life.
He's the only solution,
to sorrows and strife.
The answer is Jesus,
when we lose our way.
He's the Anchor we cling to,
when we go astray.
The answer is Jesus,
to each sinner's prayer.
He died on the Cross,
our burdens to bear.
The answer is Jesus,
each day of the year.
He's the Blessed Assurance;
we have nothing to fear.
The answer is Jesus,
to the questions of Life.
He's the only solution
to sorrows and strife.

Dear Father,
I pray for all who read this, in the name of Jesus, that Your Word will be so full in their minds, Your promises so
fresh upon their lips, that whenever the enemy comes in, to steal away their joy, they will be equipped and armored with
Your Word, to guard their joy and peace, so that it is not stolen from them.
Father, give us the strength and the wisdom to seek Your Word, to know what it says about our circumstances, and to be able to confront the enemy, whenever he sneaks in, to whisper lies.
Father, post angels at the gateposts of our minds, and guard our thoughts. Keep our thoughts in line with Your thinking,
and with Your Word, so that we will remain victorious over our minds, and in turn, all of our actions and deeds.
In the name of Jesus, I pray, trust, believe,
and thank You, Father, Amen.

Oh, give me courage, Lord, today,
to face what comes along.
Give me the faith and love I need,
to fill each day with song . . .
Oh, give me courage, Lord, today,
to follow in Thy way,
Help me to do what I should do,
and hear me when I pray.
Oh, give me courage, Lord, today,
and strength to do Thy will;
Lead me and guide me, Precious Lord,
for I need Thy Presence still.
Oh, give me courage, Lord, today,
Come wash away my pain.
Thou art my Master, Lord, and King,
and ever shall remain.
