The Pilgrims Before Us

The Pilgrims Before Us

The Pilgrims before us stood
upon the native soil,
they brought with them Thanksgiving,
and the willingness, to labor and toil.

With intentions pure and honest,
they reached the distant shore.
With faith in their hearts, and trusting in God,
they dreamed for lives restored.

They set about a new beginning,
determined, committed, with devotion and strife,
paving the way for the early standards,
by which this country's people could enjoy the good life.

They could see the hope of a better tomorrow,
a vision of peace and brotherly love,
a land where all creeds, all colors,
could work, and be blessed from above.

The Pilgrims before us, built this nation,
where joy and freedom ring,
where we could stand freely before God, Our Father,
with Thanksgiving,
and to Him, lift our voices and sing.
